Project Description: | Being one of the main components of economic development in the country, the agricultural sector in the State of Qatar is getting a lot of attention from the government, who has been working hard to remove natural obstacles that impede horizontal extension of agriculture by supporting farmers and encouraging national investments in the agricultural sector. The agricultural activity in Qatar focuses on developing modern irrigation systems, categorizing farms, improving the quality of agricultural production, introducing modern scientific and technological techniques such as protected and intensive farming in production operations, diversifying farming production patterns, and enhancing guidance, organizational, and monitoring mechanisms.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture is providing facilities such as the Agricultural and Quarantine Building at Abu Samra that will enhance scientific and technological techniques for the development of the agricultural sector of the country. There are various types of building units. i.e. Central administration bldg., senior staff and labor accommodation, equipment store, sheep & cattle pen, horse paddock, horse stable, incinerator bldg, hay store, isolation pen, refusal area, sand store, loading & unloading platforms, birds, cats & dogs quarantine bldgs., substation, control room guardhouse and pump room. The project was well equipped with a modern laboratory, examination hall, cold store, sterilization room, icebox room, and bee’s lab, to meet any consequence it is also equipped with an Incinerator for the dead animal carcass to be burned. |
